What is there to do?
Excursions: If you like to lay in the sun and relax, read a book or two that’s fine but if you prefer to get out and about there is plenty on offer.
Close to the resort you will find one of the best attractions on the island:
Ocean World

Each holiday maker will receive a FREE ticket to gain entry to Ocean World, this is an experience not to be missed. You will be taken in the morning and collected when your ready.
The shows are entertaining and the animals you will see will delight and amaze you: (there are dolphin, seal and shark encounters which are available at an extra cost). You can go snorkeling (equipment supplied) in their specially made reef, you can swim with the fish and look at the stunning coral.
There is so much to do and see here you need to keep a whole day free. After the shows you can enjoy the ‘beach’ where there is a huge aqua slide to play on (life vests are available). Ocean World has a lovely pool to play in and if you stay for the evening you can watch the spectacular ‘Bravissimo’ show and then you can try your hand at the casino. Normally these tickets are $55 per adult and $40 per child. (watch out for the special excursion offered at no extra cost to Ocean World on a Thursday evening, this is a fabulous night of live music shows, Bravissimo show, casino and a disco, free shuttle service to and from ocean world is available free of charge).
Catamaran

Catamaran trips are very popular. These boats take you to two spots to do some snorkeling, the fish are incredible as is the live coral. You will be driven to the boat where you will spend the day, once on board you will enjoy the entertainment , music and generally have a a lot of fun with the staff and crew. All food and drink are included. Afterwards you are then taken back to the resort.
Trip to paradise island. This trip takes you to a little paradise island. The sea is of the most beautiful blue green and crystal clear, the sand powdery and white. The trip by coach takes you through some of Dominican’s most stunning scenery including a banana plantation. There is food at the destination and a chance for a swim, there you will board a boat which takes you to the island, leaving you time for snorkeling or swimming with experienced guides who feed the fish and talk about the coral you will see. Later you will depart back to the main beach and the trip onward back to the resort. On the way home there is a stop at a cigar factory, where you can sample the cigars; watch them being made in traditional style and a chance to look round at the other souvenirs on offer.
Trips to Puerto Plata town where you can admire the Victorian architecture and learn about the fortress built to protect the town from pirates. There are also amber and larimar (the national stone) museums. Take the cable car and see Puerto Plata at its best
Visit Santa Domingo where you will be treated to some history and architecture.
Sousa is a small town in Puerto Plata where you can enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters, Sousa is the best place to snorkel on the north coast of the Dominican republic.
Trip inland in a jeep meandering through lush countryside arriving at a beautiful waterfall, take a swim in the refreshing clear waters and visit caves where the most amazing stalagmites and stalactites can be seen.
Not the the faint hearted there is the thrill of river rafting on the Yaque del Norte river, the longest in the caribbean; safe in the knowledge you will be with professional guides taking you through canyons and rapids. All safety equipment and refreshments are provided.
Enjoy the thrill of zip lining in safety through the canopy of the forest and lush countryside.
Horse back riding, there are many stables offering riding to all levels of experience.
Fishing: These trips are always popular you can go alone or as a group, take to the open water and try to land the ‘big one’
